As reported by Insiders View this morning, Latitude’s Kwik Fit Insurance have been penalised (not really banned guys) by Google, and are just beneath Go Compare for ‘car insurance‘ at 70th. A quick Google blog search reveals the extent of Kwik Fit’s spammy behaviour. Check out this snippet from one ‘pay-per-post blog’:
“It needs insurance plans? That such to know Kwik-fit Insurance? There you it will be able to find one infinity of products and services that will become its more easy life. If you have a car,”
It was only a matter of time with crap like that as a link strategy one thinks!
So - which Latitude client is next? Come’on guys - smarten up! Blog links like that are gonna get you wiped out!

Probably a good time for all SEOs to double check their professional indemnity insurance. I get the feeling rates are going to go up in the near future.
So go on, give the poor guys some love, they have to be hurting

WTF /van-insurance/ ???
oh yeah, auto generated content

Google is obviously on the hunt for spammers in this arena. Thank goodness..
You are of course correct about the ban (it’s actually a penalty). But that really wouldn’t get as much attention
Keep up the good work guys.

Thanks George. Glad you like it
Insiders View have been fairly inspirational toward our production of this site, but of course, we don’t just care about car insurance (although its by far the most interesting serp currently!).
What I still find hard to believe is the prevalence of spam in all serps. When will Google sort it? In G’s defence, do you feel the serps would actually be more relevant if they removed the likes of MoneySupermarket of Tesco Compare - 2 of the biggest spammers?
I guess from my POV - its about putting everyone on a level footing, but surely to some it is right that the market leaders (eg the ones with the biggest brand and most cash) should make up the top 10? With this in mind, what does it matter they spam between them? The little fish will never have a chance…
Keep up the discussions

What’s so good about latitude anyway, they just buy tons of links. Is it because they are corporate brown nosers? I watched a couple of their videos and they seem to talk like used car salesmen. Latitude smatitude.
